Coronavirus: 35 imported cases among yesterday’s count

The Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry says a total of 61 coronavirus-positive patients were identified within Thursday (28) as the cases tally went up to 1,530.

Thirty-five persons who had returned from overseas and undergoing the quarantine procedure were among the Covid-19 infections confirmed on Thursday.

This includes 18 returnees from Kuwait who are under quarantine in Trincomalee, 17 returnees from Dubai who are quarantined at the facility in Giragama.

The rest of the positive cases have been detected from Sri Lanka Navy.

A total of 745 persons who contracted the virus have made complete recoveries so far while the active cases under medical care stands at 775 at present.

Ten of the confirmed cases have succumbed to the virus.
