41 people test positive for COVID-19 – Total confirmed cases at 1,182

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has risen to 1,182 as of 7:00 pm on Monday (May 25), according to data published by the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health.

“So far 41 people have tested positive for COVID-19, on Monday,” said the Ministry of Health.

According to the latest figures published by the Epidemiology Unit at the Ministry of Health, 477 active COVID-19 patients are receiving medical treatment.

Meanwhile, 21 COVID-19 patients were discharged toady following complete recovery.

Thereby, the total number of recoveries in the island stands at 695.

10th death from COVID-19 was also reported in Sri Lanka on Monday.

“The victim was a 51-year-old woman who returned to the island from Kuwait,” the Government Information Department said in a statement on Monday, quoting Dr. Anil Jasinghe – Director General of Health Services.
