Railway commuters to recieve vegetables at concessionary rates

Prices of vegetables being sold across the country have been increasing over the past few weeks. In an unusual move, the Ministry of Railway Services is stepping up to provide some respite to the people who have been battered by the high prices.

The Ministry of Railways Services has taken measures to provide vegetables at concessionary rates to commuters. Accordingly, commuters will be able to purchase 10 varieties of vegetables while inside Railway stations.

State Minister of Railway Services C.B. Ratnayake noted the program will commence at 2.00 pm today (January 2) at the Fort and Maradana railway stations.
