The National Building Research Organisation has issued a Level 3 Red alert, landslide warning for 3 districts. The red alert will be in effect till 6am tomorrow (Dec 21) for the districts of Matale, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya.
Meanwhile, a Level 1 yellow alert is in effect in the Badulla and Monaragala areas as well.
Residents of the areas, specified below, have been advised to take precautions and remain vigilant as incessant rains could cause landslides.

YELLOW ALERT

Badulla District : Uvaparanagama,Welimada,Ella, Haldummulla, Passara, Lunugala, Haliela, Bandarawela, Haputale, Soranathota, Badulla
Monaragala District : Badalkumbura, Medagama, Bibila
