42,979 individuals have been arrested for violating excise laws during the past 11 months. The Excise Department added that the number consists of 3971 women.
During the same period, the Department has carried out 43 013 raids as well. In excess of Rs. 168 million has been raised in fines while around Rs. 500 million worth of illicit liquor has been confiscated in the same period.
