Archbishop of Colombo, His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith notes that the Catholic Church has requested for additional security to be provided to churches inline with Christmas.
The Cardinal notes that they had received various reports concerning the security of Catholics and Christians in the country over the past few weeks adding that this prompted them to reach out to the Government to request for additional security. The Cardinal added that the Government has promised to provide additional security to each and every church for Midnight mass and for mass on Christmas Day.
The Archbishop of Colombo notes that they are working on the assumption that there could be a probability of another attack on Churches.
