What is the fate of the MCC agreement in Sri Lanka. According to State Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara, the agreement will not be signed, under any circumstances, as long as this Government remains in power.

Speaking to reporters in Colombo last night, the State Minister noted that such an agreement could not be signed in accordance with the President’s election manifesto, which was adopted by the cabinet of ministers as the national action plan, as it stated that they would not enter into any international agreements which would harm the sovereignty or the independence of the nation.

Nanayakkara went onto state that if it does happen he would not remain in the Government, adding that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa too would most likely quit the Government.
