UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe today dismissed allegations which claim he sabotaged the party’s campaign for the recent Presidential Election. Wickremesinghe said the key members, ministers and MPs were vested with certain duties and responsibilities adding he was tasked with securing the votes from the North and East.

He said the low voter percentage in the remaining areas of the country contributed to the loss at the Presidential Poll. Ranil Wickremesinghe said the party must look in the reasons why it lost the Sinhala Buddhist votes, adding it had never happened before.

Ranil Wickremesinghe stated that there is no point in blaming one another. Wickremesinghe also discussed allegations regarding campaign finances, stating that none of the party office bearers were involved in it.
