The Level 1 Yellow alert issued by the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) will remain in place until 5om today according to NBRO officials. The Yellow alert was issued to areas in the Ratnapura and Badulla districts as rainfall exceded 75mm.
The NBRO has instructed residents in the following areas to remain vigilant for the possibility of landslides, slope failures, rock falls, cutting failures and ground subsidence.
The Yellow Alerts is effect for the following areas –
Ratnapura District – Balangoda, Imbulpe, Weligepola, and surrounding areas
Badulla District – Haldummulla and surrounding areas
