The Health Ministry states that 62,111 people have been infected with dengue within the past year. The non- communicable diseases division of the Ministry states that the highest number of dengue patients were identified in the month of October, with a country total of 10,238.
The Ministry further states that while the number of dengue patients recorded from the Colombo district sums up to 13,218 that 10,043 patients have been identified from the Gampaha district.
