65 complaints filed at PCoI probing 04/21 attacks

The Presidential Commission appointed to investigate and take necessary action regarding the April 21st terror attack has received over 65 complaints.

Secretary of the commission H.M.B.P. Herath stated the complaints included a complaint from the Archbishop of Colombo, Most Reverend Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.

He further stated the investigations into the complaints will be initiated this week. The secretary stated the commission will convene tomorrow to discuss the complaints received.

The process of accepting complaints started on the 4th of this month and the final date of accepting complaints was yesterday.

The Commission appointed by the President to investigate, report and take action regarding the April 21 attack, chaired by Appeal Court Judge Janak de Silva comprises of Appeal Court Judge Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne, Retired Court of Appeal Judge Nihal Sunil Rajakaruna, Retired High Court Judge Bandula Kumara Attapatu and former Ministry Secretary, Mrs. W.M.R. Adhikari.

The five-member committee was appointed on the 22nd of last month by President Maithripala Sirisena.
