The Government Executive Officers have called off the strike they launched five days ago, after discussions with the Cabinet Sub-Committee. Similarly, strikes by government medical officers and public administration officers have been suspended as well.
GMOA media spokesman Dr. Samantha Ananda said this decision was reached taking into consideration the decisions taken by the cabinet regarding the salary anomalies.
While the President of the Public Administration Officers Association Prabath Chandrakeerthi stated the strike which was due to take place today has been called off due to the positive response from the government over the salary anomalies issue.
