An 18-hour water cut is now in effect, according to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB), for a number of areas in Kelaniya and Gampaha.
The NWSDB stated that the water cut is due to operations to connect the new pipes for Phase 2 of the Kelani River Southern Bank Project.
The areas of Wattala, Mabola, Ja-Ela and Katunayake, as well as areas which come under the Seeduwa Urban Council, Wattala PS , Mahara PS, Ja-Ela PS and a section of the Gampaha PS, will experience the 18-hour water cut.
