The Elections Commission states that they have notified all political parties to inform them of any candidates that they wish to present for the upcoming presidential election.
Chairman of the Commission, Mahinda Deshapriya states that this was informed during previous discussions held on the election preparations. He further said that such an announcement was made to all parties since it will ease the pre-election preparations.
