AG to be consulted regarding the Muhudu Maha Viharaya – Department of Archaeology

The Department of Archelogy states that measures have been taken to consult the Attorney General’s to get advice on the plot of land owned by the archaeological reserve of the Muhudu Maha Viharaya in Potuvil. Director-General of the Department, P. B. Mandawala says that as of now two gazettes have been issued regarding the Muhudu Maha Viharaya land.

He further said after marking the specific land belonging to the archaeological reserve of the Viharaya that measures will be taken to remove the illegal residents from the vicinity. The Muhudu Maha Viharaya that is said to have been built by King Kavanthissa consists of a number of archaeological resources.
