Presidential Candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Gotabaya Rajapaksa paid homage to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura today (August 13). Leader of the Opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa and several other MPs from the SLPP attended the event.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa called on Atamasthanadhipathi Ven. Dr Pallegama Siriniwasa Thero and engaged in other religious activities. He then called on Viharadhipathi of the Mirisawetiya Rajamaha Viharaya Eethala Wetunu Wewe Gnanathilake Thero.
