The residents of the Samanalawatte, Balangoda have been severely affected by a shortage of water.
The people believe that illegal logging in the adjoining forest reserve has dried up water sources in the reserve causing the current shortage of water. The people further stated that the prevailing situation has affected around 40 resident families.
