The Navy in coordination with the Police conducted a search in Madagalthurei, Jaffna and discovered 122.5kg of Kerala cannabis yesterday (July 31).
Naval personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command in coordination with the officers attached to the Ilawali Police conducted a search operation in Madagalthurei and uncovered the stash in a shrub in the vicinity of the beach.
Police suspect the cannabis may have been smuggled into the country by boat. Investigations are currently ongoing.
