UPFA MP, Dinesh Gunawardena addressed a crowd in Kottawa yesterday(22 July).
He noted that no provincial council elections were held so far and this was Ranil Wickremesinghe’s democracy.
He added that apart from the defence expenditure, allocations to the provincial councils are the largest allocation from the budget. He added in order to use the funds provincial councils possess they need to appoint provincial councillors.
He went on to note that they have appointed eight governors arbitrarily and wasting the funds for their own whims and fancies.
