The National Building and Research Organization (NBRO) notes that the landslide warnings issued to the districts of Ratnapura, Nuwara Eliya, Kegalle, Kandy, Kalutara, Matara and Galle due to the current inclement weather, will be in effect until this evening.
Senior scientist of the NBRO Dr. Wasantha Senadheera requested the general public to remain vigilant regarding the possibility of landslides. The NBRO has advised residents living in landslide prone areas to evacuate if heavy rains continue to persist.
