Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Rockstar’ that starred ranbir kapoor and nargis farhriin the leads is still fresh in audience’s mind. All thanks to the outstanding performance by Ranbir and the soulful music that has touched the hearts of millions. Today, while browsing we came across an interesting piece of information which says that it was not Nargis Fakhri but Deepika Padukone who was the first choice to feature in ‘Rockstar’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
As we all know, Deepika worked on a few noteworthy projects like Love arj kal and tamasha with Imtiaz Ali however it came as a surprise when the director who recently finished shooting for Kartik Aryan and Sara Ali Khan’s film which happens to be the sequel to ‘Love Aaj Kal’ revealed that Deepika was the first choice and not Nargis to be in ‘Rockstar’. He wanted Deepika to offer the role. However things didn’t work out.
Reportedly, Imtiaz recalled when he first encountered with Deepika. He narrated how she got off the car at the hotel porch and looked at him and he immediately knew that this is the girl he have come to meet. On the other hand he revealed that even Deepika immediately knew that he is the director she had come to meet.
The director added that none of her movies were released then and he wanted her for ‘Rockstar’ but unfortunately the film took a longer time and in the meantime, he worked with her in many other movies. Imtiaz further said an extremely statement that he can forget many things which happened over the years but he cannot forget the girl who stepped out of the car and looked at him as if she knew him.
