The no confidence motion against Minister Rishad Bathiudeen handed over by the joint opposition contain an error which could compel Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to reject it, Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella said yesterday.
According to Mr. Kiriella, the year mentioned in the motion where the date is concerned is 2018. “The year mentioned as 2018 where the date is concerned but the charges made against Minister Bathirudeen are ones which he had allegedly committed in 2018.
“Speaker will have no choice but to reject the motion,” Mr. Kiriella said.
