Bollywood filmmaker and producer karan johar will turn 47 on May 25 and if the recent reports are anything to go by, KJo is all set to celebrate it in style like every other year. According to Filmfare, Karan is planning to ring in his birthday in New York. And unlike most years when the actor throws a big bash at his residence to celebrate with the who’s who of Bollywood, this year Karan is planning for a rather quiet and intimate celebration.
The filmmaker has been having not-so-good year as far as his films are concerned. His ambitious project ‘Kalank’ bombed at the box-office and his latest release ‘Student Of The Year 2’ did not apparently receive the anticipated response from the audience.
Reports were rife that, following the failure of ‘Kalank’, there has been a rift between Karan JOhar and Abhishek Varman. However, another report cleared that there is no bad blood between the two filmmakers and that Karan has also reportedly asked Abhishek to start working on a new script.
On the work front, he is all geared to don the director’s hat once again for his upcoming period drama, ‘Takht’ which boasts of an ensemble star cast consisting of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
