Ceylon Teachers Union calls for 2nd term test to be cancelled

The Ministry of Education states that the 2nd term examinations will be held as usual. Additional Secretary, M Rathnayake noted that all the schools islandwide have resumed the regular academic activities. He believes although the current student turn-out is low it would return to normalcy in the coming weeks.

The Education Ministry stated that special security measures are in place in all school to ensure the safety of the students and requested the parents to send their children to the respective schools.

Meanwhile, Ceylon Teacher’s Union stated that due to closing down of schools for several weeks would make it difficult to complete the lessons in time and have called on the Education Ministry to cancel the 2nd term tests.
