Whoever the presidential candidate may be, they will have to contest under Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), says the Leader of Opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He stated this speaking to the media persons following an event held in Embilipitiya.
He was queried by the media persons on a statement of former Defense Secretary Basil Rajapaksa that a candidate from SLPP would contest for the Presidential Election.
Commenting on the recent meeting held with the JVP, the Opposition Leader said that they are of the view that Executive Presidency should be abolished.
He further said that the Parliament does not have the right to amend the Constitution or replace it.
