The Management Faculty of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura has been closed indefinitely, the Vice Chancellor of the university stated.
Reportedly, the administration of the university has taken the decision due to complaints received on the ragging activities at the Management Faculty.
For the past few days, many complaints concerning verbal ragging activities carried out by the senior students of the faculty were received, said the Vice Chancellor. However, the senior students have, reportedly, disregarded the advice given to them in this regard.
Prof Sampath Amarathunga stated that the senior students also have obstructed the freshman students attending lectures today.
Considering the prevailing situation, the administration of Sri Jayewardenepura University has decided to close the Management Faculty indefinitely.
