Fairly strong gusty winds up to 40 kmph can be expected over North-western, Eastern, Uva, North-central and Western provinces and in Hambanthota district. Fairly colder nights and mornings is expected over most parts of the island during next few days.
Several spells of light showers will occur in Western province and in Batticaloa and Ampara districts.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Rathnapura, Galle, Matara and Kaluthara districts after 2.00 p.m.Mainly fair weather will prevail elsewhere.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
